Their 25-minute presentation shed light on ENGin's mission, goals, and how to get involved as a volunteer.

Rohanna's Journey Begins
Rohanna, a high school senior from Cary, North Carolina, embarked on her journey with ENGin in early 2022. At just 18 years old, she demonstrated a profound sense of purpose and a desire to contribute to a cause greater than herself. Her motivation to volunteer with ENGin stemmed from a search for a meaningful opportunity to not only enrich her own life but also touch the lives of others.
As an ENGin volunteer, Rohanna assumed the role of an interviewer, a pivotal position ensuring that prospective students and volunteers align with the program's criteria and requirements. Her responsibilities also extend to serving as an ambassador, conducting presentations like the one at the Fuquay-Varina Woman's Club event. Rohanna has even taken it a step further by launching an ENGin Chapter in her area, showcasing her dedication to ENGin's mission.
ENGin's Impact and Cross-Cultural Connections
Rohanna's involvement with ENGin is fueled by her overarching passion for effecting change in the lives of others and fostering a broader global community. A Life-Changing Experience
One remarkable story from Rohanna's ENGin journey involves her first student, Daria. Daria, a young Ukrainian girl with dreams of attending a boarding school in the United States, needed to take the SAT in neighboring Poland. Rohanna wholeheartedly embraced the mission of supporting Daria's dream and guided her through the process of researching American boarding schools that aligned with her aspirations. In addition, Rohanna dedicated herself to teaching Daria English every weekend.
As Rohanna diligently worked to support her student and new best friend, she uncovered her true calling: being a catalyst for positive change in her global community. Rohanna recalls the emotional video call with Daria from Poland, where Daria expressed her deep gratitude. They eagerly awaited the test results, and the moment they arrived with remarkable scores, joy and fulfillment filled their hearts. Daria's journey to Massachusetts in August 2023 to attend her dream boarding school was a testament to the unwavering dedication of Rohanna and ENGin in helping Ukraine's youth rebuild their nation.
Throughout this mission, I discovered many things about myself. As I worked hard to support my student and new best friend, I continued to realize my true passion for making a difference in the lives of others. I knew I wanted to be a strong advocate for positive change in my global community.
