Are you an English teacher from Ukraine who wants to feel more confident speaking English and grow professionally? ENGin4EDU connects Ukrainian educators with international education professionals for meaningful 1-on-1 English conversation and global teaching exchange.

6-Month Professional Development Program for Ukrainian English Teachers

In 2026, the program brings together educators from the US, UK, Australia, and Canada to collaborate and exchange expertise with English teachers in Ukraine.

Participation is completely free.

What Is ENGin4EDU?

ENGin4EDU (ENGin for Educators) is a special professional development program by ENGin, a global nonprofit supporting Ukraine through international connection. The program is funded by Nova Ukraine and the Ukrainian Community Foundation of Philadelphia.

THE PROGRAM IS SPECIFICALLY FOR:

English teacher in Ukraine practicing conversation during online video session

English teachers at state schools, colleges, and universities in Ukraine

Private English tutors living and working in Ukraine

Practice English in one-on-one weekly live video calls, just 1 hour per week, with an ENGin4EDU volunteer who has experience in education. Sessions are scheduled at times that suit you best.

Get Certificate & ECTS Credits

All participants can earn: 1) A professional development certificate 2) ECTS credits (1 / 0.7 / 0.4 / 0.3) depending on attendance and completed tasks

Program Format & TimeLine

Phase 1: Professional development & Education-related Discussions

  • Topics include teaching methods, best practices, intercultural education, and classroom innovation

  • Complete up to 10 optional tasks with feedback from the ENGin4EDU Curriculum Lead to deepen your learning

  • 3 optional virtual gatherings with all ENGin4EDU participants

Phase 2: Open Conversation Practice

  • 12 sessions to deepen your English speaking skills

  • Use the ENGin session materials or choose any topic of interest with your volunteer

  • Continue building confidence, fluency, and global connections

  • 12 structured sessions with program materials

Program Impact

Over two previous cohorts, ENGin4EDU has connected hundreds of Ukrainian educators with volunteers, with 93 participants in 2023 (66 earning certificates) and 203 participants in 2025 (156 earning certificates).

How to Apply?

To join the program, complete these 3 key stages:

STAGE 1

Register as a student at app.enginprogram.org and begin the application form.

STAGE 2

When asked “What program are you applying for?”, select
ENGin for Educators Subprogram.

STAGE 3

Complete all onboarding steps (take up to 2 hours over a week, excluding time for matching), including:

  • Registration (10 min)

  • Interview (15 min)*

  • Program agreement (2 min)

  • ENGin student training (60 min)

  • Self-assessment (10 min)

  • Matching with a volunteer

​*During the interview, we'll discuss your teaching experience and goals. You may also be asked to verify your workplace, which helps us ensure the quality of the program.
