6-Month Professional Development Program for Ukrainian English Teachers

ENGin for Educators (or ENGin4EDU) is an ENGin program that strives to address a root cause of Ukrainian students' struggles with English: English teachers who are not confident English speakers. Our participants are all English educators from Ukraine seeking to improve their speaking and professional skills.

Over six months, you'll connect with a volunteer with work experience in education through weekly 1-hour one-on-one video chats at a time that works best for you. Together, you’ll collaborate to support your professional growth, improve your English fluency, and exchange teaching insights and experiences from a global perspective.

We accept English teachers of state schools, colleges, and universities, and private English teachers.

No, participation in this program is free.

Yes, if your volunteer agrees to continue communicating with you after the completion of ENGin4EDU, you will have two options:

1) you can continue communicating with your volunteer informally;

2) or you can continue your communication within the main ENGin program. In this case, you will need to make a charitable one-time donation of 1,875 UAH, which will cover one year of participation in the ENGin program. If needed, we can match you with another ENGin volunteer within that year. Read more about ENGin here.

You will be matched with a volunteer who has full-time professional experience in the education field in the US, UK, Australia, or Canada to collaborate and exchange experiences during the sessions. We match teachers with volunteers, taking into account your schedule, interests, and preferences regarding the volunteer’s gender.

No, we accept only new students who have never participated in the ENGin program.

The overall commitment is 6 months (March-end of August 2026).

The program is structured in two phases:

Phase 1: March-May 2026 (12 online sessions)

Focus: Education-Related Topics and Discussions

During this time, you should have 12 video meetings with your volunteer. The main focus of your meetings should be educational topics based on the program session materials. See the detailed program overview here.

Phase 2: June–August 2026 (12 online sessions)

Focus: Conversations on Any Topic of Interest

After the main part of the program, educators are invited to conversational practice with the volunteer for another 3 months. This phase offers open-ended discussions, giving you the freedom to explore topics of personal interest while continuing to enhance your English. For the program's second phase, you can use session materials from our standard ENGin program.
