Volunteering at ENGin
Can you help change a life from the comfort of home?
We're looking for volunteers to serve as conversation partners for Ukrainian youth. This is a flexible and unique opportunity to make a huge impact while discovering a new culture and meeting a new friend.
No prior experience or knowledge of Ukrainian is required - all you need is an internet connection. The commitment is just one hour a week for a minimum of 10-12 weeks (you choose the day and time). We provide training, support, and materials to guide your conversations.
Below, we share the benefits of volunteering with us, details about eligibility, and an overview of the volunteer registration process. When you're ready to start, just click here!

Am I Eligible?
ENGin has 4 main criteria for volunteers:
Age: We welcome volunteers age 14 and up.
English fluency: Volunteers should be fluent English speakers.
Commitment: Volunteers should be ready to dedicate 1 hour a week to ENGin for at least 10-12 weeks. If you're looking for more hours, we can accommodate that too!
Technology: All sessions with students take place online, so volunteers should be comfortable using online video chat platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, Skype, or others.
You don't need teaching experience to volunteer with ENGin! Our learners have all studied English grammar and vocabulary, and the program focuses on conversation. However, if you are an English tutor or teacher, we would be honored to have your professional expertise as well!
Note: Due to russia's invasion of Ukraine, we are not able to accept applications from volunteers currently located on the territory of russia, Belarus, or occupied Crimea. We also cannot accept volunteers who deny or justify russian aggression, who oppose Ukraine's independence and full territorial integrity, or who support the myth of "brotherly nations."
